Our story

Panchanan Chandra began in a Kolkata that ate its chanachur off newspaper cones and out of tin boxes passed around during evening chai. He and his son Nirmalendu spent years getting the blend right — the ratio of peanuts to sev, the exact roast on the gram flour, spices sourced rather than bought off the shelf. It worked. By the time Pranab Chandra, the third Chandra to run the business, took over, the name had become shorthand for chanachur itself in Bengali households. He's since widened the shelf — nimki, bhujia, muri, sandesh — but the ISO-certified factory turning out ten tonnes a day still answers to the same standard the family set decades ago: nothing that wouldn't have passed Panchanan's taste test.
