🥭 How to Ripen Mangoes Naturally
Raw mangoes are plucked just before dispatch and packed with rice straw to ensure safe delivery. Follow this traditional method to ripen them naturally:
- Fruits will ripen gradually in 3 to 6 days. Keep checking them regularly - Very IMP.
- For the first 2–3 days, keep the mangoes in the original box at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Around the 4th or 5th day, check the colour — mangoes will start turning yellow from the top.
- Spread rice straw on the floor and place a sheet of newspaper over it.
- Arrange the mangoes in sequence on the paper, ensuring they are not stacked.
- Cover them with another layer of paper and a light cloth.
- In the next 2–3 days, mangoes will ripen fully and develop a natural aroma — ready to eat.
Caution: Do not damage or remove the stem (tip) of the mango, as it may lead to black spots.
